Weekend Writings - #1

During the weekends, I thought about if I would always be around to write a blog and the conclusion was no. There will be weekends in which I am too busy to do anything but the busy work. Thus, my ended up result was that I was going to share writings of mine. They all have deep meanings and some are completed, and some need completion. They all have a meaning to me, and they might have a meaning to all of you. I will also try to explain my interpretation of the writing and my emotions during the time that I have written the piece of writing, also during some of these 'Weekend Writings' I will put multiple writings based on the length of them.

I remember that my original piece of writing was inspired by my father. One day he was sharing some of the old writings that he had done in high school and how his teachers wanted him to put them in some contests. After that, I wrote a rather lust-like love letter and gave it to a person that I had feelings for at the time. She politely accepted the letter and declined a relationship at the same time, but I have no other documented form of that piece.

Anyway, the following piece came from after watching Highlander. The movie highlander is about immortals having a competition to become the final immortal alive, and the only way to do such thing is to chop off the head of another immortal. If you haven't seen the movie, it is an amazing movie. I wrote this following poem from the point of view of an immortal that knew he would fight and most likely die that night. The following poem does not have a given title.

I am not like you,
I look like you,
I feel like you,
But I cannot die.
I don't drown,
I don't die by being stabbed,
I don't die from age,
I don't age.
I am human,
I am immortal.
There must be only one,
and Tonight I Die.
